Raoul Boulakia
I grew up in Montreal, where I attended a college with a humanist philosophy. I am fluent in English and French, and did my studies in both languages. Later, encouraged by my law school clinic work with Latin American clients, I became fluent in Spanish.
After graduating with a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Toronto and a doctorate in law from Osgoode Hall Law School. I went into private practice in 1990 as a lawyer representing immigrants, refugees and citizens.
My priority, even as a student, was to embed human rights advocacy in my working life. I have a passion for the study and ideals of law. Making a positive difference in people’s lives gives practical value to those ideals.
Most of my clients are immigrants and refugees navigating our immigration, refugee and citizenship law system. I am privileged to represent people from all over the world.
I also represent Canadians sponsoring their loved ones, facing challenges with securing passports or repatriation, or applying for US waivers.
Preferring to work directly with my clients, I limit the number of clients I represent.
I can arrange interpretation for any language.
I represent clients at hearings in English or French.
You are welcome to contact me with enquiries, to arrange consultation, an appointment or representation.
